OptionOwl is private by design. We built it so your thinking stays yours. OptionOwl has no user accounts, no sign-up, and no servers of its own, and it does not collect, sell, or share your personal information. This policy explains what that means in plain language.
Information we collect
None. OptionOwl does not collect personal data. There is no account to create and no profile to fill in. Everything you create in the app, including your ideas, prompts, answer sheets, answer history, Apple Intelligence conversations, saved website names and addresses, and settings, is stored only on your device. We never receive or see it.
Information we do not collect
- No names, email addresses, or contact details.
- No location data.
- No analytics, usage tracking, or advertising identifiers.
- No browsing data: no cookies, no browsing history, no visited web addresses, and no website login credentials.
- No access to your photos, contacts, microphone, or files.
OptionOwl does not track you across apps or websites, and it includes no third-party advertising or analytics SDKs.
Subscriptions and payments
OptionOwl offers an optional auto-renewable subscription, OptionOwl Pro. All payments are processed by Apple through the App Store. OptionOwl never sees or stores your payment information, billing details, or Apple Account credentials. Apple's handling of your purchase is governed by Apple's own privacy policy.
Apple Intelligence
OptionOwl includes an optional chat with Apple Intelligence, the AI built into supported iPhones. These conversations are processed on your device by Apple's on-device model and are saved only on your device. OptionOwl never sends them to us or to anyone else.
Third-party AI services
OptionOwl never automatically sends your content or personal data to any third-party AI service. When you want an AI's help, you decide what to share and where to send it. You can copy text from OptionOwl and paste it into an AI app or website yourself, or open a website you added on OptionOwl's Chats tab. Anything you choose to send to a third-party AI service is governed by that service's own privacy policy and terms.
User-Added Websites
OptionOwl lets you add websites of your choosing. These websites are operated by third parties, not by OptionOwl. Third-party websites may use their own cookies, account systems, terms, and privacy policies.
OptionOwl opens user-added websites using Apple's Safari services. OptionOwl does not collect or store third-party website cookies, login credentials, browsing history, visited URLs, or the content you type into third-party websites.
Website display names and URLs that you save in OptionOwl are stored locally on your device.
OptionOwl does not control third-party websites or their data practices. If you use a third-party website, your interaction is governed by that website's own terms and privacy policy.
Data storage and deletion
Your content lives on your device. To delete everything OptionOwl has stored, simply delete the app from your iPhone. There is nothing stored on our side to request or erase, because we never had a copy.
Children's privacy
OptionOwl is rated for users 17 and older and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
Security
Because your data never leaves your device and we operate no servers, there is no central database of your information that could be exposed. Your content is protected by your device's own security.
Changes to this policy
If we update this policy, we will revise the date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be reflected here before they take effect.

What is OptionOwl and how do I use it? ›
OptionOwl helps you turn a rough idea or decision into something clear, using an AI chat. (1) Write your idea in the Brainstorm tab. (2) Tap Copy and send it to any AI chat, in its own app, with on-device Apple Intelligence, or on a website you added right inside OptionOwl. (3) Copy the AI's reply back into the Paste tab and tap Build Sheet. (4) Tap your answers in the Answer tab. Send them back to the AI and repeat until your idea is clear.
Do I need an account? ›
No. OptionOwl has no sign-up and no login of its own. Just open the app, finish the short welcome tour, and start. If you open an AI website you added on the Chats tab, you sign in on that website itself, and OptionOwl never sees your password.
Which AI assistants does it work with? ›
OptionOwl works with any AI chat, including ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude. Chat with Apple Intelligence on-device when your iPhone supports it, or tap "Add Website" on the Chats tab, enter the AI website's name and address, and it opens in a Safari view right inside OptionOwl. You can also just use your favorite AI app outside OptionOwl.
How do the free trial and subscription work? ›
OptionOwl Pro unlocks the full app. The monthly plan starts with a 7-day free trial, then bills monthly. A yearly plan is also available as the best value. Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. You can cancel anytime, and you will keep access until the end of the period you already paid for.
How do I cancel or manage my subscription? ›
Subscriptions are managed through your Apple Account, not inside OptionOwl. On your iPhone: open the Settings app, tap your name at the top, tap Subscriptions, choose OptionOwl, and then change or cancel your plan. You can also tap Manage Subscription on OptionOwl's own Settings tab, which opens the same screen.
I subscribed, but the app still shows the paywall. ›
Tap Restore on the paywall, or go to OptionOwl's Settings tab and tap Restore Purchases. Make sure you are signed in to the same Apple Account you used to subscribe, and that you have an internet connection. If it still does not unlock, email us and we'll sort it out.
How do I restore a purchase on a new iPhone? ›
Sign in to the new device with the same Apple Account, open OptionOwl, and tap Restore on the paywall or Restore Purchases in Settings. Your OptionOwl Pro access will reactivate.
Is my data private? Where is it stored? ›
Yes. Everything you type in OptionOwl stays on your iPhone. OptionOwl has no servers and collects no personal data or analytics. See our Privacy Policy for the full details.
The text is too small (or too big). Can I change it? ›
Yes. Open the Settings tab in OptionOwl and use Text size in OptionOwl to make every word bigger or smaller. Tap Reset to return to 100%. OptionOwl also respects your system Dynamic Type setting.
How do I see the welcome tour again? ›
Open the Settings tab and tap Replay Welcome Tour. Your saved ideas, prompts, and answers stay untouched.
